Dr. Guarino's areas of clinical interest include acute and chronic pain, interventional pain management, nerve blocks, neurolysis, epidurals, intrathecal catheters, spinal cord stimulators, spinal diagnostics, radiofrequency neuroablation, discograms, intradiscal electrothermy (IDET).

Dr. Guarino's research focuses on new treatments for chronic pain states including sciatica, radiculopathies,CRPS, and arachnoiditis.  He is currently the principal investigator for three studies investigating cytokines for treatment of chronic pain.
