Clinicians at the Washington University Pain Center approach the control of pain from a number of perspectives, in a multidisciplinary fashion. Experienced pain specialists provide the latest, most effective techniques for the management of acute pain, chronic pain, non-cancer pain, and pain that is cancer-related.
Although potent pain control therapies exist, there are many patients for whom pain can not be adequately controlled at present. Further advances in pain control therapies are sorely needed, and developing and implementing new treatment strategies will require the combined professional efforts of basic researchers, clinical researchers, clinicians and educators.
